The main means of communication for babies in the first stage of life is crying. And contrary to what many think the baby crying is not always associated with some pain or hunger. And in some situations even the most experienced parents cannot find out why the little one cries so much. <
Extremely healthy babies can cry for 1 to 3 hours in total per day , is that too much? And even with a full tummy and a clean diaper, without pain and without diaper rash, he continues to cry. What is happening? You hug, sing, talk and he continues to cry. Crying is the baby’s way of communicating and saying that he is bothered or wants something and the difficult task of unraveling the reason is the dads’. In the first few days it is almost impossible to know how to identify the reason for so many tears, but believe me after the first month a simple whimper you will know why.
In the beginning it will be quite desperate to see the baby crying, try to calm him down or find out if something is hurting and nothing will resolve and believe 98% of mothers go through this at the beginning. Over the months he will learn and develop forms of communication, often unique in that only parents and close family members will understand what they want, which will reduce crying crises. But while this does not happen, take a deep breath, take a big dose of tranquility and during the crisis of the crying baby use your mother’s intuition, affection, a lot of patience and try to calm him down. Know that the mother’s nervousness can pass to the baby and make him even more nervous and the crying extend even more.
Baby Crying Too Much – What Are the Main Causes?
One of the main reasons for a baby’s constant crying is hunger . As they do not know how to ask or complain that their tummy is snoring, they cry until someone resolves their situation. As they have a very small stomach and do not support a lot of food (milk), they need to eat several times a day. But this reason is easy to identify, as they usually suck on their hands or try to suck what is closest to them. When you notice these signs, avoid taking too long to feed him and make him even more nervous. Because even suckling can take time to calm down.
The second reason that fits the main causes of babies’ crying is the dirty diaper. Some don’t even care or bother with a full diaper, but most do. When we see a baby crying a lot and is already feeding, the second step is to check the diaper. Remembering that if we leave the baby dirty for a long time, it can cause terrible and painful diaper rash that will turn into a lot of crying and this time with reason, pain. Better to avoid, isn’t it?
The third cause, which in my view is the biggest reason for babies to cry, is sleep . Babies and children usually run out of patience and annoyance when they are sleepy and end up crying “for no apparent reason” !! To avoid the baby crying in this situation, regulate your naps and bedtime and avoid being passed, thus preventing the baby from being nervous, stressed, irritated and leaving the mother in the same circumstances with so much crying.
The fourth reason that is also widely reported by parents is that of the baby’s stomach pain or cramps . It is a very common reason in the first 3 months of life as your digestive system is still very immature. The reasons can be from inadequate feeding of the mother who passes through breast milk or the formula she is using or the fact that the stomach is immature. Another cause of belly pain is reflux, which due to the milk rising and falling may cause abdominal discomfort. Usually babies turn red, push hard and cry non-stop when they have pain in their tummy.
The fifth cause of the crying baby is sensitivity to heat or cold . Some are very uncomfortable when they take off their clothes, while others are overweight. As they do not know how to say what they are feeling, they cry. So the ideal is for the mother to be attentive to the time and not overdo the baby’s clothes. Some tend to think that babies feel colder than adults and are wrong, after all the temperature is the same for everyone. The best way to check the baby’s temperature is through the belly, if it is cold it is because it is cold if they are hot and sweaty it is because it is hot and some parts can be removed.
Of course, there are several other reasons and causes for the baby to cry uncontrollably, but these five are the main daily reasons. The birth of teeth is also a reason that brings a lot of irritability in babies and cause a real show of tears. The morning and the habit of being held is also a reason and in some cases it is just taking the baby that everything goes by like magic. It is also worth paying attention to small details such as the inconvenience of some piece of clothing !! As they are very sensitive, a rubber band pressing a little more or a button that is bothering may be the reason for the baby to cry for hours. So take a good look at the baby, opening a diaper and all the clothes are indicated to see if something is not hurting.
After all these issues have been resolved and the baby continues to cry, try giving him a warm bath to calm him down . A good massage with oil suitable for the baby’s body is a way to relax him too, also known as shantala . After these procedures, try to rock him very fondly and with much luck, he will fall asleep peacefully. It is worth repeating, the tranquility of the mother or father will make all the difference in this process of reassuring the baby. Take a deep breath and use all your tactics to achieve !!

My name is Dr. Alexis Hart I am 38 years old, I am the mother of 3 beautiful children! Different ages, different phases 16 years, 12 years and 7 years. In love with motherhood since always, I found it difficult to make my dreams come true, and also some more after I was already a mother.
Since I imagined myself as a mother, in my thoughts everything seemed to be much easier and simpler than it really was, I expected to get pregnant as soon as I wished, but it wasn’t that simple. The first pregnancy was smooth, but my daughter’s birth was very troubled. Joana was born in 2002 with a weight of 2930kg and 45cm, from a very peaceful cesarean delivery but she had already been born with congenital pneumonia due to a broken bag not treated with antibiotics even before delivery.
