Non Roto Follicle Syndrome – LUF

Index

Many women try to conceive for years, and as they fail to start the exhausting exam marathon, however, a problem that is hardly talked about is the Luf. Do you know what it means? Luf (non-ruptured follicle syndrome) can be a silent problem that bothers you a lot when trying to get pregnant. Now, how do you know if you have this syndrome?

First let’s understand Luf better, the ovaries start working when the woman menstruates. The body tells the brain that it has already menstruated and this in turn stimulates the pituitary gland to manufacture FSH. This in turn makes the connection with the ovaries. So he makes the initial stimulus for the egg to mature. The eggs start to grow and then estrogen enters the scene to support this growth and also the endometrium . At the end of follicular growth, the LH is released and there it releases the egg or the mature ones if more than one reaches the appropriate point for fertilization. For those who have Luf, the problem is right now, the follicle does not break .

Even if it does not break, the process of luteinization of the ” corpus luteum ” begins . This would be formed only with the exit of the egg, but women who have Luf have all the symptoms of a post-ovulation, with the exception of ovulation itself, and without it, pregnancy will not occur. The egg cells start to stimulate the secretion of progesterone, and there the hormone levels after the fertile period are absolutely normal for clinical eyes. The reason for this failure is not specific. The hypothesis of LH deficiency, of resistance of the film that surrounds the egg, is being considered, but it is not known exactly what causes Luf.

How to Diagnose and Treat Luf?

The problem is when the couple wants to get pregnant and by various methods it is known that everything is ok with health. Pregnancy does not happen and hormone levels are all within the normal range. How to detect Luf then? Only through ultrasound.

Non-ruptured follicle syndrome can take the couple by surprise.

Through ultrasonography, the non-ruptured follicles and also secretors can be visualized, but to diagnose the syndrome, the woman must repeat the exam in other cycles for confirmation. If confirmed, Luf has treatment don’t worry. Just follow the cycles with serial ultrasound. It is known that the follicle has already ruptured because the size of the follicular cyst drastically reduces, we can say that it withers.

It will not be necessary to induce ovulation , just follow the growth of the follicle and then when it is at the ideal size, apply the medication to help with the rupture. Some doctors advise going directly to insemination or fiv, however there are reports of women with Luf who became pregnant only with this simple procedure of applying Ovidrel or Choriomon. However, some professionals accustomed to this problem, say that the most effective way to achieve pregnancy in a shorter time, is the ICSI or IVF.

Luf is one of the forms of anovulation, but more difficult to be diagnosed since the period occurs normally, without delays and with signs of ovulation. The mucus secreted during the fertile period is seen even all the pains of ovulation are present. The most important detail of this period does not happen, ovulation itself. Has it been a long time trying to get pregnant and nothing happens? Then ask all your hormonal and ultrasound exams to your doctor. It is normal for a fertile and healthy couple to become pregnant in one year. If the pregnancy does not happen within this time then it is suggested that the couple do more accurate tests and further investigate.

My name is Dr. Alexis Hart I am 38 years old, I am the mother of 3 beautiful children! Different ages, different phases 16 years, 12 years and 7 years. In love with motherhood since always, I found it difficult to make my dreams come true, and also some more after I was already a mother.

Since I imagined myself as a mother, in my thoughts everything seemed to be much easier and simpler than it really was, I expected to get pregnant as soon as I wished, but it wasn’t that simple. The first pregnancy was smooth, but my daughter’s birth was very troubled. Joana was born in 2002 with a weight of 2930kg and 45cm, from a very peaceful cesarean delivery but she had already been born with congenital pneumonia due to a broken bag not treated with antibiotics even before delivery.
