Doubt of 9 out of 10 women taking a pregnancy test: was my test positive ? Whether it is a pharmacy or blood pregnancy test, when a result different from what we were expecting and used to – negative – will make a knot in the head and vision as well. Let’s start by talking about the most routine tests, the pharmacy tests. They are practical and very simple to do, in any pharmacy or even websites, we can buy for prices that fit in your pocket and that we can do in the comfort of home. It is no wonder that the pharmacy test has gained more and more followers around the world.
To do the test is simple, just have a container to collect the urine and dip the straw or case for approximately 1 minute. After 5 minutes it is possible to read the result, but before that, when the dye is still rising, the positive line can be seen forming. I confess that this is the greatest emotion in the life of a temptress , and how I dreamed of that line appearing … When it happened I didn’t believe it! So I know that many women also feel insecure in determining the result on their own, just looking at the test strip.
The line is not always as strong, it all depends on how much HCG is in the urine, and then the weak lines happen leaving doubts. It is possible that weak lines appear, but so weak that they look like hallucinations, they do not appear quickly, it takes time for the dye to rise.
The test lines get darker as the days go by, so it is advisable to do another test with the first urine of the day, if you confirm the line, even if it is very clear, it is positive! A negative result is considered just one line , the control line . If the test gives only the test line, then the result is invalid. If there is no line, it is also invalid. An image that illustrates the possible lines and results of pharmacy tests very well is this:

Blood Test Results
Some laboratories love to confuse their customers, each result and references more crazy than the other. For example, a result of 1754 mUI or mIU (it is the same thing), is considered positive for its reference above 25 mUI.
However, this result may seem indeterminate or negative, why? Because they stop putting the comma or period after the number 1. The dot shows the unit, it is a mathematical question! Do you know the decimal places? Yes, these will make a difference when determining the result, it is important to check the period and the comma.
Whenever you have the point 1.690 or 5.750 or just a high number before the comma type 754.00, then it is positive. To be considered negative, the value must be 0 before the comma or period, for example: 0.2 or even a low value after the comma, for example: 2.64.
Other laboratories have the reference as reagent and non-reagent . If reagent then the result is positive. If it is positive> positive and negative the same thing. Now qualitative laboratories can also show results above 25mUI with results only by pointing to signs like <or> where <is less than 25 and> greater than 25 , that is positive .
Still in doubt? Leave your comment here! You will certainly have help to unveil your result, either from beta HCG or pharmacy exam.

My name is Dr. Alexis Hart I am 38 years old, I am the mother of 3 beautiful children! Different ages, different phases 16 years, 12 years and 7 years. In love with motherhood since always, I found it difficult to make my dreams come true, and also some more after I was already a mother.
Since I imagined myself as a mother, in my thoughts everything seemed to be much easier and simpler than it really was, I expected to get pregnant as soon as I wished, but it wasn’t that simple. The first pregnancy was smooth, but my daughter’s birth was very troubled. Joana was born in 2002 with a weight of 2930kg and 45cm, from a very peaceful cesarean delivery but she had already been born with congenital pneumonia due to a broken bag not treated with antibiotics even before delivery.
