As soon as the children’s discovery phase begins around the first year of life, parents are on the alert for all types of movement, development and new learning. Especially if you already have an older child, the comparison of evolution from one to the other ends up being inevitable and where a lot of the neuroses of fathers and mothers end up.
Some without any foundation, while others deserve more attention and should be observed and any type of suspicion should be reported to the pediatrician. Some signs of delay are really warning that something is wrong, and can be for several reasons and one of them is autism. Autism is a developmental disorder that is usually noticed in the early years of a child’s life. The difference is usually noticed in the child’s social interaction with other people, and in the way of acting in situations of joy and anxiety, showing very common signs of autism.
The disease is hereditary and can also occur due to some genetic predisposition of the parents, and nothing is scientifically proven yet. Autism directly affects brain processing, making it difficult to learn and perfect certain achievements and affects mainly boys. There are several types of autism, each distinguishing its levels of difficulty among them are the autism spectrum ASD, Asperger’s Syndrome and the PDD-NOS (Global Developmental Disorder with no other specification).
Signs of Autism and How They Live With Others
The first signs observed by parents and doctors are the lack of expression and communication of these children. The fact of doing repetitive acts and movements also draws a lot of attention, in addition to gestures with hands and feet that make symptoms very characteristic of autism. Many autists have different reactions when exposed to some kind of light, sound and even some touch, such as a hug. A gesture that is so common and used by the human being and that shows affection, can be a source of great stress for some autistic people. Because it is a disease that is not noticeable or considered a physical disability, it ends up being very complicated for people around, especially for strangers to understand their behavior.
Autists tend to have difficulty answering questions and following recommendations and instructions. They find it difficult to hold a conversation and develop on a subject and when they express themselves they speak about subjects that are of self-interest only. Others simply cannot speak and are unable to develop speech. One of the points that most accentuates autism is the fact that they are unable to interact with other children, and do not like to share activities. Even if they have a desire to play with others, they don’t know how. They have great difficulty in meeting new people and having contact with them, very typical symptoms of autistic people which define children who live within their own world.
Repetitive movements , especially moving the body back and forth, are very evident signs of autism. They can stay for a long time walking in circles with their arms tight under their bodies and making movements with their arms for no apparent reason.
To be able to live with an autistic person, it is necessary a lot of patience and above all a lot of affection. The stimulus is essential, especially when you note the interest in a specific subject. This activity, game or subject can be used more or more deeply in activities that make him open up more and who knows, maybe meeting friends with the same tastes and interests?
Find ways to help you communicate more easily, if you like to show situations through drawings, encourage drawing, if you like the sounds of a musical instrument. In times of stress, take the child out of the place and take him to a more reserved and quiet place, where he can calm him down. The accompaniment of teachers, psychotherapists together with the family is essential for a better development of a child with autism. Each has its performance in its time, and evolution should not be charged . Congratulate each time you manage to do something different and celebrate with each new discovery. Over time he had adapted and managed to communicate better and better with the world, each in his own way.

My name is Dr. Alexis Hart I am 38 years old, I am the mother of 3 beautiful children! Different ages, different phases 16 years, 12 years and 7 years. In love with motherhood since always, I found it difficult to make my dreams come true, and also some more after I was already a mother.
Since I imagined myself as a mother, in my thoughts everything seemed to be much easier and simpler than it really was, I expected to get pregnant as soon as I wished, but it wasn’t that simple. The first pregnancy was smooth, but my daughter’s birth was very troubled. Joana was born in 2002 with a weight of 2930kg and 45cm, from a very peaceful cesarean delivery but she had already been born with congenital pneumonia due to a broken bag not treated with antibiotics even before delivery.
