“When I turned 13, I discovered that I had polycystic ovary syndrome and started taking contraceptives to try to relieve the cramps and pimples that started to appear at the same time. I was scared to death, I went to the doctor, she gave me omega 3 and folic acid and told me to try about 6 months and if I didn’t succeed we would start the battery of tests.
The last pill I took on December 23, 2012, and then my husband and I were thinking positive every time we dated … On January 23, my first period came, of course I wouldn’t get pregnant in a month, but it really upset me, and so if it was another month on the 23rd of february i woke up, i had a lot of colic the day before, i had even slept in an absorbent, when i went to the bathroom in the morning, i had no blood, i decided i would try to do the pharmacy pregnancy test and there were two lines (which indicated positive).
After a week I did the first ultrasound which presented only a gestational sac, and had no fetus, the doctor warned that it could be an embryonic pregnancy, without an embryo, indicated that I should be back in a few weeks.
March 22, there I was again with my heart in my hand… and to our surprise there was a fetus, alias two … My reaction ??? the first was an attack of laughter, then an attack of crying, it did not enter my mind that there were two children inside me … I heard both hearts, and I almost stopped listening to my size was the scare !!!
During pregnancy everything went very well, the fetuses were always above the average size, with 14 weeks I discovered that they would be two girls and there I started to call them by the names Alicia and Laura, we also discovered that they would be identical. At 23 weeks I did a morphological ultrasound and she warned that my cervix had shortened, which put everything at risk, the babies could be born at any time, so I started having absolute rest, getting up just to eat, go to the bathroom and go to bed.
I always wanted babies to be born on 10/15, because it was the day my husband asked me to date and then he asked me to marry him on the same day… and I thought the date would be special… but on 7/18 the doctor put me of absolute rest and it was very clear that the babies would not be inside me for another month, I was still so much missing, I was so afraid, but I had faith, I thanked God when I went to bed every day, because one more day I had gone and they weren’t born …
We arrived in October and there was no threat of labor, in all consultations the doctor said that no more than one week had passed, but several had passed, and with the exact 38 weeks I went to the hospital, and guess what day it was? 10/15/2013 … Alicia was born with health, 2,280gr and Laura 2,160gr.
