Pregnancy and Gym

It was if the time that a pregnant woman should spend 9 months of gestation in absolute rest and that no physical effort was allowed. Currently we see some examples that it is possible to go through a pregnancy and gym in the same period, providing a healthy life and maintaining the routine that the woman already followed. Obviously, there are cases of high -risk pregnancies that, by medical recommendation, efforts are prohibited during the entire gestational period, but those that have a quiet and risk-free pregnancy, why not continue practicing the exercises and routine that I already lived daily?

For those who have an active physical life and are concerned about their physical shape, when they become pregnant, they should inform the responsible obstetrician about their routine and only after the evaluation and release of the same should the exercises be maintained. In some cases, only the practice of lighter exercises is indicated, especially in the first trimester, where the fertilized egg is still fixing on the uterine walls, and any great effort can cause a miscarriage.

For those who do not usually do physical exercises and decide to start in the gestational phase, care with the first trimester should be further strengthened, but it can be the first step to start a healthier life and create better habits that will extend even after the birth of the baby. Recalling that the gym during pregnancy should not be sought in order to gain a fit body and gain muscle, but rather to control weight gain and also to maintain a healthy routine including helping at the time of delivery, in addition to leaving the stronger body to face the big changes during this period.

Pregnancy and gym can be a perfect combination, but you must follow a strict monitoring both with the obstetrician who will assess the mother’s health and good gestational evolution and with a specialist within the gym who will assist and indicate the exercises, appropriate devices and dose the correct time.
