The long action of reversible contraceptives known as LARC, has come to revolutionize birth control in America. Test programs carried out in St. Louis, Missouri and Colorado where IUDs and hormonal implants were created at low cost or for free were observed by researchers and health professionals ensuring great efficacy, with unbelievable results. Research in Colorado reports that rates of teenage pregnancy, as well as abortion fell by an average of 48% in 5 years. Prior to testing, half of women before age 21 would already have at least one child. After completing the studies, half of these women only became pregnant after 24 years of age.
These statistics as well as new recommendations from leading American medical bodies believe that now is the time to recognize IUDs and birth control implants, which they offer
unwanted. So the American Academy of Pediatrics and the Congress of American Obstetricians are recommending the long-acting contraceptive method, as a safe method for adolescents to use. The program provided IUDs and implants for teenagers from 14 years of age, which, unlike contraceptives in pill form, needs to be ingested daily.
The new method aims to be inserted and “forgotten”, without major concerns since adolescents are not so aware and regulated with the use of contraceptives.
It is a way of ensuring that young people who start their sex life early ensure that they will not become pregnant and that they are not forced to resort to abortions, especially in clandestine clinics. In addition to ensuring that all these young women are able to complete school life as expected, without an unwanted pregnancy interrupting.
My name is Dr. Alexis Hart I am 38 years old, I am the mother of 3 beautiful children! Different ages, different phases 16 years, 12 years and 7 years. In love with motherhood since always, I found it difficult to make my dreams come true, and also some more after I was already a mother.
Since I imagined myself as a mother, in my thoughts everything seemed to be much easier and simpler than it really was, I expected to get pregnant as soon as I wished, but it wasn’t that simple. The first pregnancy was smooth, but my daughter’s birth was very troubled. Joana was born in 2002 with a weight of 2930kg and 45cm, from a very peaceful cesarean delivery but she had already been born with congenital pneumonia due to a broken bag not treated with antibiotics even before delivery.
