Healthy Day-to-Day Things the Child Loves

Index

I always look for alternatives for children not to eat junk food trying to adapt the ones they like to eat, transforming it into healthy food. Well, I think the habit goes from family to family and of course some tips always go well because every day we can learn more and more to present healthy food for the whole family without having episodes of a twisted nose.

For example, here at home this business of potato chips is abolished. Of course they love “fries” but how then to present the same dish in a less harmful way? Simple and much more practical than many think. A while ago I became a total supporter of the electric or conventional oven. Everything we are going to do that would be fried, I do it in the oven, so healthy food is always present in a delicious, quick and crunchy way just as it had been fried in immersion and here between us it is much easier to clean everything afterwards, goodbye splashes!

Well besides making everything that would be fried in the oven (particularly I like it better because it doesn’t get soaked with fat) we also get used to eating less salt . Not that the food is absurdly tasteless, but I was able to accustom the palates of the children, my husband and me to foods with less salt than what would have been “normal” before the change in habit. In addition, we also try to offer them healthy and homemade food. So every day I take time out of my day to prepare baby food, rice, beans, a little meat and always a vegetable or a beautiful salad. It is very cute to see Melissa eating cucumber and dripping the broth through her fingers, I am silly to see what a change in habits can do in a child’s diet.

Of course we had fast food moments, but we decided to reduce the frequency a lot and nowadays we rarely eat anything ready . We also don’t always eat out, so controlling what they eat in a certain way is easier. Of course there is healthy food outside the home, just knowing where to go to eat. Choosing by hand can make a difference.

So I’m going to teach two recipes that are the most successful with the kids here at home, “fries” and chicken breast fillet with vegetables. To make the potato “fries” there are two tricks, buy the potato the most purple and also dry very well before putting it in the oven , this helps the potato to be even more delicious than if it had been fried. For a family of 4 and a half people (rs) I use:

  • 4 medium potatoes cut the way the family likes most can be toothpick, slices, cubes (English type or not, whatever you have in the fridge)
  • 2 crushed garlic cloves
  • Rosemary, oregano, salt,
  • Olive oil to taste

In a pan greased with oil or nonstick, I place the cut and spread potatoes, if it is a large pan it is better because the farther from each other the faster they are ready . Seasoning with rosemary, oregano, but it can also be thyme or sage, it will suit your taste and lastly the salt. On top of everything and before going to the oven, actually spread the garlic over the potatoes without stirring so that they are even on top and so they are baked and crispy. On top of that everything goes olive oil to your liking. It goes to the oven at high temperature and it takes about 25 minutes until it becomes crispy.

Another healthy food we always make is chicken fillet in the oven with vegetables. Nothing much, but it is very successful with the children here at home.

  • 1 kg of washed chicken fillet
  • Garlic, lemon, oregano, Worcestershire sauce and salt to taste
  • 1 small broccoli
  • 2 medium carrots
  • 1 red pepper without skin
  • 2 diced potatoes
  • 2 small sliced onions

First of all I season the chicken fillets and I also peel and clean all the vegetables. I pre-cook the carrots and also the broccoli to stay “on the teeth”. Meanwhile arrange the onions in the form and the chicken fillets seasoned on top with a drizzle of olive oil. Place the potatoes and peppers around the chicken and bake. When the chicken is cooked place the carrot and broccoli seasoned with salt and oil. Let the chicken brown, it can vary from oven to oven, but it is very fast , I believe that in 1 hour you will have healthy food for the family without much effort.

I also really like to mix the two recipes, make the chicken without the potatoes and complement it with the first recipe and white rice. They love, are satisfied and super happy to have eaten “fries” Little by little we are changing from easy to homemade and this has certainly been very good for our health and for the children, I already see significant changes in their disposition and in mine as well as of course making sure that they had a correct and full diet mother’s love!

My name is Dr. Alexis Hart I am 38 years old, I am the mother of 3 beautiful children! Different ages, different phases 16 years, 12 years and 7 years. In love with motherhood since always, I found it difficult to make my dreams come true, and also some more after I was already a mother.

Since I imagined myself as a mother, in my thoughts everything seemed to be much easier and simpler than it really was, I expected to get pregnant as soon as I wished, but it wasn’t that simple. The first pregnancy was smooth, but my daughter’s birth was very troubled. Joana was born in 2002 with a weight of 2930kg and 45cm, from a very peaceful cesarean delivery but she had already been born with congenital pneumonia due to a broken bag not treated with antibiotics even before delivery.
