With great pleasure, Trocando Fraldas receives Dr Marco Cassol, a doctor specialized in plastic surgery, graduated from the Faculty of Medicine at the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul and with an experience of more than 10 years in the aesthetic field. And today, it contributes with some of the doubts that are most recurrent of the blog readers. It is a great pleasure Dr Marcos, welcome !!
Changing Diapers: When can an aesthetic repair procedure be performed after pregnancy? How long can it take for the belly or breast to become really a problem after giving birth?
Dr Marco: The ideal is to wait 6 months after delivery. After the sixth month, we can perform the treatment for belly flaccidity. The breasts (breasts) need to wait at least a month after the period when there is no more milk out.
Changing Diapers: What is the best age to perform an abdominal surgical repair after pregnancy? Dr Marco: After 6 months of delivery, the best period is when the patient feels ready.
Changing Diapers: Can the abdominal region be repaired by the obstetrician at the time of delivery?
Dr Marco: No. There is a risk of amniotic fluid embolism, a risk that we should not take.
Changing Diapers: What aesthetic treatments can a pregnant woman do?
Dr Marco: Everyone who is not invasive and does not have a systemic impact on the pregnant woman (LASER at high potencies, medications). Lymphatic drainage and hyper hydration of the skin with creams and oils are highly recommended.
Changing Diapers: Does breast prosthesis hinder breastfeeding? can there be a problem with breastfeeding in women who have them?
Dr Marco: Breast implants do not change breastfeeding. Patients who would have a lot of milk, will have with or without prostheses. Patients who do not feel sufficiently safe and oriented and have difficulty breastfeeding, will have them with or without prostheses.
Changing Diapers: And for those who had a tummy tuck before pregnancy, may they have a problem at the time of delivery, or even during pregnancy?
Dr Marco: This myth was a reality in the past. Today it is known that abdominoplasty does not have any limitations or problems during childbirth or pregnancy. We have several patients who became pregnant after an abdominoplasty surgery. The seam of the muscles (plication of the rectus abdominis muscles) remains after pregnancy and the result of the surgery is not lost. Of course, we need to take care that there is no excessive weight gain during pregnancy.
Dr Marco, it is a pleasure to welcome you, thank you for your participation!

My name is Dr. Alexis Hart I am 38 years old, I am the mother of 3 beautiful children! Different ages, different phases 16 years, 12 years and 7 years. In love with motherhood since always, I found it difficult to make my dreams come true, and also some more after I was already a mother.
Since I imagined myself as a mother, in my thoughts everything seemed to be much easier and simpler than it really was, I expected to get pregnant as soon as I wished, but it wasn’t that simple. The first pregnancy was smooth, but my daughter’s birth was very troubled. Joana was born in 2002 with a weight of 2930kg and 45cm, from a very peaceful cesarean delivery but she had already been born with congenital pneumonia due to a broken bag not treated with antibiotics even before delivery.
