Even if the woman takes all the care recommended by the obstetrician during the pregnancy period  , unexpected differences may occur during delivery, but in general if the future mother takes good care of her health and does her best to have a healthy and peaceful pregnancy, chances of something going wrong with your delivery will be minimal. There are some complications that can occur during childbirth that are not always foreseen, others already due to complications in the final stage of pregnancy already make responsible doctors prepared for a possible emergency, many times you are even obliged to deliver in a way that he dreamed everything for the health and life of the son’s mother.

  • Premature delivery : One of the most common complications is prematurity, as they can occur for various reasons and complications, also naturally when the pouch ruptures naturally. It is considered premature delivery when the pregnant woman gives birth at 36 weeks, with rupture of the bag (liquid-filled membrane that surrounds the baby inside the belly). In the past, childbirth was carried out in a hurry right after the rupture of the bag, in order to prevent the spread of infections and believing that the baby would die. Nowadays, childbirth is only performed if it is found that the baby’s lungs are already mature enough to be born, otherwise it will be indicated the intravenous receipt of fluids and absolute rest from the mother to be able to await the maturation of her baby’s lung.

  • Post-maturity  delivery : Post-maturity or post-term delivery as they say is after 42 weeks, and causes the placenta to lose its functionality in pregnancy putting the baby at risk. As it is difficult to determine the exact week of pregnancy, it is also difficult to determine when it is already “past the hour”. Therefore, the woman must be examined accurately and the baby examined for heartbeat and movements, together with the amount of amniotic fluid that tends to decrease considerably in post-maturity pregnancies.

  • Uterine bleeding: After childbirth it is natural to have a large bleeding that will last for a few days, but bleeding may occur during childbirth that is larger than normal, as the woman’s blood vessels are open due to the placental disconnection. When the uterus does not contract enough to control enough, the woman may experience severe uterine bleeding and should be checked immediately.

  • Pre-eclampsia:  Pre-eclampsia occurs when the blood pressure of the pregnant woman rises above 140/90 mmhg after 20 weeks of gestation, causing the responsible obstetrician to be alert, as pre-eclampsia can cause fatal damage to both mommy as for the baby. In order to be diagnosed, pre-eclampsia must have, in addition to high blood pressure, a higher change in the amount of protein found in the urine and the pregnant woman to have a rapid weight gain above the recommended According to the Ministry of Health, hypertension in pregnancy is primarily responsible for deaths and complications in childbirth and its cause is still unknown in medicine.

There are other factors that can lead to complications in childbirth, such as amniotic embolism that can cause cardiorespiratory arrest in the mother, it occurs when the excrement of the fetus enters the mother’s bloodstream causing an allergy that can be fatal for both the mother and the baby. In case of abnormal discomfort, severe headaches and any other abnormal symptoms during pregnancy, see your doctor.

My name is Dr. Alexis Hart I am 38 years old, I am the mother of 3 beautiful children! Different ages, different phases 16 years, 12 years and 7 years. In love with motherhood since always, I found it difficult to make my dreams come true, and also some more after I was already a mother.

Since I imagined myself as a mother, in my thoughts everything seemed to be much easier and simpler than it really was, I expected to get pregnant as soon as I wished, but it wasn’t that simple. The first pregnancy was smooth, but my daughter’s birth was very troubled. Joana was born in 2002 with a weight of 2930kg and 45cm, from a very peaceful cesarean delivery but she had already been born with congenital pneumonia due to a broken bag not treated with antibiotics even before delivery.
